How To Avoid Illegal Recruiters

1. Check the name of the recruitment agency if it is included in the list of POEA accredited recruitment agencies.

2. If the agency is licensed, check with nearest POEA Accreditation Branch or online at http://www.poea.gov.ph if the recruiter indeed has a current job opening.

3. Maximum allowable placement fee should only be equivalent to one month salary exclusive of documentation and other processing fees.

4. Do not pay any placement fee unless you already have a genuine employment contract at hand.

5. Never accept a tourist visa but only a Working visa.

6. Never deal with fixers.

7. Ignore advertisements requiring you to reply to a post office (P.O.) box and at the same time enclose payment for processing of papers.

8. Avoid training centers or travel agencies who promise overseas employment.
